CULINARY TEAM ROLE

We have room to grow with like minded individuals who are interested in seasonal, farm grown foods to join our culinary team in a line&/or prep capacity… happy to create a diverse or focused role according to your strengths.

Charlotte & the Quail {EST 2010} is a Victoria fav for healthy meals, kind service, and a peaceful environment. Our location is set on the edge of a 9 acre botanical garden which fuels our days -it even includes morning herb & flower harvests for use in cooking & plating. We are a team of skilled culinary & hospitality professionals that have come together to make seasonal meals both our artistic expression and our movement for a more meaningful local food industry/system. We work hard together AND we also have healthy, fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities vary with skill and job but here are some foundation pieces for all our coworkers:

• Demonstrate full working knowledge, with proper cooking techniques and in a safe professional manner
• Able to read and reproduce the recipes in an efficient way

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Junior role: 1 year kitchen experience (required)
• Senior role: 3 years line and/or prep (required)
• Leadership role: 5 years and leadership experience (required)
• Have experience working with seasonal produce and alternative culinary techniques.
• Have a strong work ethic that centres in being professional & kind & team focused
• Brings conscious interpersonal & communications skills
• Contribute to the development of the culinary team that supports each other to reach both common & personal goals
• Have confident knife skills
• Food Safe certification (required)
• Occupational First Aid, Food Safe level 1, and WHMIS knowledge an asset
• Must be able to lift up to 25lbs and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ensure safety, sanitation and cleanliness of self and workstation
• Treat all company property with care and respect
• Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner
• Enjoy a fast paced service - we are busy!

HOURS: Full-time 35-40hrs/week, Part-time 16+ hrs/week

WAGE: $20.00-$24.00 per hour {wage competitive & negotiated with skillset} + above average tip pool

SCHEDULING:

• We are open to both part and full time possibilities.
• Shifts are no more that 8.5 hours
• Early Morning & Day shifts - evening solo work possible
• Weekend availability (we work to ensure we can all get time off that we want/need)
